A food sharing app for your community
Have you come across OLIO? It is a way of linking neighbours and local businesses to share food that would otherwise be wasted thus reducing food waste and helping people at the same time. It is completely free and operates in the Woking and Chertsey areas. You will need to download the app and you can then begin either offering food stuffs that are perfectly usable (ie ones that you would use yourself) but that you don’t need, or searching for things you might want that are on offer. You can use OLIO to request specific items as well so it can put you in touch with somebody locally who might have what you need. It is not limited to foodstuffs either – othre items that you cannot make use of yourself and are happy to share with others can be offered on OLIO. Collection is then arranged from the person offering or a collection point. Foodstuffs from local businesses are made available in this way too so it’s not just individuals! Give it a go or take a look at OLIOEX.com to find out more about it.
